Lampyridae Vineyards, Mt. Veeder
Twenty-five hundred feet above the floor of the Napa Valley, sits Lampyridae Vineyards, the highest elevation vineyard on Mt. Veeder. In 1996, the Derr's purchased the property that sits just below the peak of Mt. Veeder and over the course of 18 years have developed it into 14.5 acres of vineyards and a home to their three children. High above the fog layer, the cooler days and warmer nights yield ideal growing conditions for premium wine grapes.
The vineyards, which are meticulously managed by our farming company, John Derr Farming Company, LLC, are composed of 10 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, 1 acre of Cabernet Franc, 1 acre of Syrah, 1 acre of Grenache, 1 acre of Zinfandel and a half acre of Petit Verdot.. Our clients include Beringer Vineyards, Fontanella Family Winery, Handwritten and Kind Cellars. We have partnered with Aaron Pott to present our Lampyridae Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and with David Yorgensen to present our Lampyridae Vineyards Grenache.
