We started farming our land for the first 3
years in a strictly organic manner. Although we intend to stay
organic in most all of our practices, we are moving our
operation to be a more sustainably farmed vineyard. The strictly
organic approach tends to restrict one into using processes that
are organic, but may not be the most ecologically sound way to
farm.
Pina Vineyard Management, where John is the
viticulturist, has been a great resource for our labor and
management decisions. Adan Tellez along with his two foremen,
Porfirio Rosas and Jose Leon Martinez, have been invaluable for
their experience and hard work at this very demanding location.
